ORP Investment Options

Under the ORP contract, issued through ING Life Insurance and Annuity Company, you have a variety of investment options from some of the country's well-known money managers. Each option is designed to achieve a different investment objective, allowing you to tailor a portfolio to help meet your objectives. From the day you enroll, you have the flexibility to shift and divide your money among the various options. This applies not only to current contributions, but to past deposits as well.

ING VP Money Market Portfolio An investment in a money market fund is not insured or guaranteed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation or any other government agency. Although effective October 7, 2008, the fund seeks to preserve the value of your investment at $1.00 per share, there is no assurance it will be able to do so. While the fund's objective includes the preservation of capital, it is possible to lose money by investing in the fund.

Variable annuities through a retirement plan are long-term investments designed for retirement purposes. Early withdrawals prior to age 59½ may be subject to a 10% IRS premature distribution penalty tax. Money distributed from the annuity will be taxed as ordinary income in the year the money is received.
