About Your Investments – Investment OptionsThis section does not contain information about the investment option available to FICA Alternative employees. Information regarding the FICA Alternative Plan is available by selecting the FICA Alternative tab from the side bar menu on the home page of this website.
The chart below shows the investment options available under the Plan with ING. By clicking on the fund names listed, you can view one-page fact sheets for each option. Fund expenses are also included. The fund code included in this chart is required for you to access your account on-line or via the VRU (800 number). To better understand the investment option information provided to you, please carefully review this additional information about types of investment risks and glossary of terms and statistics found on the fund fact sheets. Documentation will also provide instructions about how to obtain any underlying fund prospectuses. Please click here.
* The Stable Value Option invests in ING's Stabilizer managed separate account annuity contract, issued by ING Life Insurance and Annuity Company (ILIAC). The contract provides for declared credited interest rates that are set in advance. Guarantees of principal and interest are based on the claims paying ability of ILIAC. The Stable Value Option is not a registered investment company and is not registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission. This investment option is not part of Separate Account D. The Credited Rate of the Stable Value Option for the period January 9 through December 2008 is 5.35%, expressed as an annual effective yield, and is guaranteed not to drop below 3.00% . Fund Performance is available by selecting the Fund Performance tab from the side bar menu under the Investments section of this Web site. In addition, fund performance summaries will be included with your quarterly statements and can be obtained from our Carson City office. ExpensesTransfer RulesTransfers are allowed among all investment options with the exception of the Stable Value Option and the Self-Directed Brokerage Account (SDBA). When this provision applies: You can transfer from either one of these investment options directly into other investment options offered under the Plan. Self-Directed Brokerage AccountThe TD Ameritrade brokerage option is a self-directed brokerage account (SDBA). The TD Ameritrade SDBA is available in addition to the investment options available to you through your employer sponsored retirement plan, administered by ING. A TD Ameritrade SDBA is designed for the experienced investor who wants to independently and actively manage an even greater choice of investments and is willing to pay additional fees and accept full responsibility for researching, selecting, monitoring and managing their investments. Through the TD Ameritrade SDBA, participants electing this option can select from more than 12, 500 mutual funds, including more than 1,100 No Transaction Fee (NTF) mutual funds. Transaction fees may apply depending on the funds selected. There is an annual $50 fee for those participants who elect the SDBA. Variable investment options offered under a group funding agreement are considered long-term investments designed for retirement purposes. Money distributed will be taxed as ordinary income in the year the money is received. Account values fluctuate with market conditions and, when redeemed, the principal may be worth more or less than the amount originally invested. Contact your local ING representative for fund prospectuses containing more complete information including charges and expenses. Read them carefully before you invest.
