EnrollmentThis section does not apply to FICA Alternative employees. Information regarding the FICA Alternative Plan is available by selecting the FICA Alternative tab from the side bar menu on the home page of this website. ING holds group enrollment meetings throughout the State on an ongoing basis. These meetings will provide information about the benefits of participation in the Plan, the features of the Plan, investment options and ING services. You will also be able to complete enrollment materials. We are also available for one-on-one meetings if you have specific questions that you would like answered in a more comfortable setting. Enrollment in the PlanThe Plan is a voluntary plan available to all full-time employees and permanent part-time employees (hired before January 1, 2004) of the State, and employees of political subdivisions and other public entities that have adopted the State Plan. Any eligible employee may elect to participate in the Plan and defer a portion of future compensation. To participate, you must agree to defer a minimum of $12.50 per biweekly pay period. There are no minimum age or service requirements. Please note that based on the Plan and IRS requirements, the earliest date your agreement to defer can be effective is the first day of the month following the date you complete the agreement. You can specify a later date if you choose. Based on the State’s Plan, if your Participation Agreement is received prior to the 15th of the month, it will be effective on the first payday of the following month. If your Participation Agreement is received on or after the 15th of the month, it will be effective on the first payday of the second month following.
